(he's starred in two dozen TV & radio ads for Walmart, Bank of America, Staples and appeared alongside Ghostbusters' Slimer, Entourage's Jeremy Piven and more), Matthew Furtado is a two-time EMMY-nominated performer with a unique combination of skills (puppeteer, actor, illusionist, host...) Since earning his BA in Theater in 2005, he has never had a non-performing job.

 Sesame Workshop & Henson Projects

Matt has been part of both small, invited puppeteer workshops for Sesame Street, where he worked closely with veteran performers, Matt Vogel, Peter Linz and Martin Robinson. (pictured L.) photo credit: Zach Hyman

Matt was thrilled to be part of the original cast and subsequent production of Jim Henson's Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas at Goodspeed Opera House. (See a clip here...Matt is on washboard and kazoo!) Working with Emmy-winner Brian Henson, Oscar-winner Paul Williams, Tony-winner Christopher Gattelli and the talented cast was a wonderful experience. 


Later, Matt took part in Emmet Otter's New York showcase for Broadway producers, performed at the Goodspeed Gala Honoring Paul Williams and was invited to be part of a one-night workshop for Henson Alternative’s Off-Broadway improv show, Stuffed & Unstrung. Matt (pictured below: Matt, Paul Williams and veteran puppeteer Peter Linz.) Matt reunited with the rest of the original cast to recreate the show in concert form at Feinstein's/54 Below and The 52nd Street Project in New York City. 


TV & Voice Work

Matt's voice can be heard in classrooms across the country, narrating hundreds of short National Geographic and Scholastic video supplements used in the elementary and middle school curriculum, returning to the studio several times each month to read new material.  He has recorded dozens of TV and radio promos, industrial projects, audiobooks, language learning CDs and commercials, including a series of radio ads for Walmart.

On-camera, Matt has appeared in several films and over 30 television commercials, some favorites being exclusive Principal Actor contracts in Papa John's national "Ghostbusters" campaign alongside Slimer and Mimecast's global ad campain alongside Entourage's Jeremy Piven...



Sesame Street LIVE!

-Elmo's Coloring Book-

 After performing across the USA with VEE Corporation's Dragon Tales LIVE! as a puppeteer and live performer for over 300 shows, VEE cast Matt in their world tour of Sesame Street LIVE: Elmo's Coloring Book!  Matt starred alongside Elmo as Professor Art, the live-mic "human amongst the Muppets," acting and singing his way through large arenas and theaters around the world for more than 350 performances.  The $3 million production was the most successful in Sesame Street LIVE's history.   

Highlights of the tour included time in the Caribbean, Costa Rica, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, the Philipines, a two-week run at MADISON SQUARE GARDEN and national appearances on FOX's Morning Show with Mike and Juliet and on THE TODAY SHOW on NBC! 

One-Man Illusion Show & Hosting

Matt performs his own one-man show and is an experienced host/emcee for events of all sizes.  Since 2010 he has appeared annually at Boston's 2500-seat Symphony Hall; writing, directing and performing a new show of music and magic each spring to rave reviews and sold-out crowds.

Since 2008, he has been on the microphone as the on-court M.C. for the WNBA's Connecticut Sun at the 10,000-seat Mohegan Sun Arena, where he has also hosted events for ESPN and The Basketball Hall of Fame, including the WNBA Draft and three All-Star Games.  He is also the on-field host at the arena for the professional men's indoor lacrosse team, The New England Black Wolves.

Matt keeps a busy calendar of performances of his unique one-man magic show entitled, NO WAY! at performing arts centers and corporate events for a diverse list clients including GE, Make-A-Wish, Ocean Spray, Pepperidge Farm, ESPN, McDonald's Corporation, The Little People of America National Conference and more...
